In Affiliate Marketing, a business compensates another business or individual for referring users who subsequently perform a certain action such as completing a form or making a purchase. For example, I’m an affiliate of Dish Network. On my websites I promote Dish Network and link to Dish Network’s website. When a person visits one of those sites and clicks on one of my affiliate links, Dish Network registers that the visitor arrived through my affiliate link. If that visitor goes on to order satellite TV, Dish Network pays me a commission ($125).
